Imagine being 13 and discovering one morning that your parents are gone and you have 4 younger siblings to care for. Unfortunately, this has been a reality to many children here in Uganda because of disease or abandonment. A child headed family traveled 20 km on foot to the YES office to find help before starving to death. How they found out about YES Uganda is a mystery but we believe God led them here. We are so thankful we were able to help them! Currently, they are healthy, enrolled in school, and cared for by a family member.
There are many other stories like these where we were able to quickly respond with life saving medical care, food, shelter, and even counseling.
