Carol’s coming to a town near you!

Hello friends, family and supporters of YES, I am excited to tell you that I am going on a book signing and an exciting trip soon. I leave on April 15th and head to Ireland, where I have many great friends. From there, I will fly to San Francisco on the 21st to sign books and visit many friends there at St. John’s Church in Oakland. I will be staying with Christopher and CC Ategeka while there. Christopher is responsible for getting my book published.

I will finish by going to Maui, where it has been 18 years since my last visit. There are very many people and places that I want to see. I lived in Maui for 19 years and had my horse training stables there. Lastly, I can’t visit Maui without hopping over to the Big Island to visit dear friends, and the Dunns and meet some of the other wonderful donors there. Thank all of you, and I hope you all had a blessed Easter.

Yes Uganda Update

We have had an exciting few months. Lots have been happening. The program has been very busy with problem-solving for students and encouraging them through their first term. As always, many challenges have come up. We currently have a very long waiting list of students. We hope to find more sponsors to enable us to take on more of these students. Due to the 11 new children joining the rescue home, we currently have 60 unsponsored children in the program. If you are interested in sponsoring or becoming a regular donor to help us cover the costs of the Rescue home, please do get in touch. We would love to hear from you. Below is a button leading you directly to our website and gifts section.

We also want to say a massive thank you to all our donors. We appreciate the sacrifice you make to support our kids. Without you, our work wouldn’t be possible. Because of your generosity, we can impact and make a difference in the lives of many children here in Fort Portal, Uganda.

While Carol is away…

While Carol is travelling, she will leave David and Faith responsible for day-to-day operations. We have a very busy month ahead as we are coming to the end of our first school term. This means we will prepare sponsor letters, compile school results and take up-to-date pictures of all kids in the program to update their sponsors.

Faith manages the HIV & Aids Rescue home, which houses 30 kids. They get food, education and healthcare. She has a background as a nurse and worked as a community nurse for many years in end-of-life care and wound care.

David is the Charity’s Deputy Director, helping Carol manage the sponsorship program, vocational school and NGO. He is currently working on getting the vocational school up and running again. We are looking at creating and Converting Electric motorcycles to help impact the environment here in Uganda.
