Mercy is a sweet and playful 4-year-old girl who loves being around her family. She’s full of curiosity and always follows her big sister Debby around, trying to copy everything she does. Mercy lives with her parents and two sisters in a small mud-and-stick house they rent in the village. The family doesn’t have running water, and things can be tough—but her home is filled with love and hope.
 
Her father works as a maintenance man, doing his best to provide for the family. Her mother dreams of becoming a tailor, but for now she fries food when they have enough money to buy ingredients. Despite their challenges, Mercy is growing up in a family that values hard work, love, and learning. With support from the YES Uganda sponsorship program, Mercy could have the chance to start school and begin building a brighter future.
