Charlie’s Story
Charlie is an 11-year-old boy currently in Primary 5. He has got complicated health issues, Due to gaps in his education and inconsistent school attendance, his learning progress has been delayed.
Charlie is also experiencing poor nutrition and noticeable weight loss, which has raised concerns about his overall wellbeing. He has had ongoing health challenges that require consistent medical care and regular follow-up.
Charlie currently lives with his maternal aunt. His mother reportedly left him in her care due to mental health difficulties. Since then, his aunt has taken on full responsibility for his care. While she is committed to supporting him, she is facing significant challenges in managing his healthcare needs, including ensuring consistent medication adherence, proper nutrition, and regular school attendance. She also has limited access to guidance and support regarding her care, which has affected Charlie’s health and stability.
Charlie’s situation was brought to attention through a hospital referral due to concerns about his health, nutrition, and consistency in treatment. There are also several other children living in the household, which places additional strain on available resources and caregiving capacity.
