Capital Assets Loan Projects

The capital asset project is a pilot youth identify an asset they want to start income business such as a bicycle or a fridge or fabricating machine. YES acquires the asset and give it to the youth who uses it and pays back in small installments. The first batches of beneficiaries were youth who wanted bicycle to provide transport services. They were able to pay back in 99 stipulated days without inconviniences and later they own the assets.

 

THE BICYCLE FOR JOBS INITIATIVE

Due to increasing unemployment among young people, YES – Uganda sensitised young people in Kawempe Division about the need to start instant job schemes with a view of encouraging youth to develop a positive attitude towards using bicycle as a source of employment. 15 youth were given bicycles on a loan scheme. Successful repayments have been recorded with a few cases of delayed payment.

 


MODEL BANK - SACCO

Young people lack access to micro credit facilities to enhance there businesses. YES – Uganda is developing a micro bank facility to help young people with vibrant business idea to access micro loans to enable them start own jobs to create their own employment. The SACCO is being registered.
